From Soldier to Researcher and much in between

Steve Johnson, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and a health professional with many years experience as a mindfulness teacher and a senior trainer with Breathworks C.I.C. who each year help therapists and practitioners to deepen their mindfulness practice and become teachers.
An Ecotherapist and Humanistic Psychology practitioner he has a degree in Integrated Therapy and a masters degree which examined the role of environment in improving health. He taught at Cambridge, Salford, Lancaster and Manchester Metropolitan Universities and is now researching the role of nature and mindfulness in the Faculty of Health and Well-Being at the University of Cumbria.
A mountain leader for over thirty years and former military medic, Steve continues to be involved in pre-hospital care as Casualty Care coordinator of a Lake District mountain rescue team and as a medic on adventure races. He is also a TRiM (trauma risk management) assessor for Mountain Rescue and the Police.
He established Tao Mountain to combine these outdoor and health interests through delivering health activities in nature.
He was UK delegate to the first Asia Pacific ICHPER (International Congress on Health, Physical Education and Recreation) Conference in Malaysia and is one of two UK delegates to the International Adventure Therapy Committee. He has presented at conferences in Manchester, London, Geneva and Johannesburg.
